Radiant Healthcare, Nurses on Boards Coalition (NOBC) Partner to Elevate Nurse Leadership

Bringing nurses into the boardroom will improve patient care,
create healthier communities, and improve business outcomes

Glen Allen, VA, April 15, 2024 – Radiant Healthcare announces a collaboration with the Nurses on Boards Coalition (NOBC) that will advance nurse leadership in healthcare governance. The partnership underscores a shared commitment to elevating nurses into key decisionmaking roles so they can drive better business decisions, more efficient healthcare systems, improved patient outcomes, and healthier communities.

Specifically, Radiant Healthcare and NOBC will collaborate to:

  • Expand nurse representation on corporate and healthcare-related boards;

  • Support leadership development for nurses seeking governance roles;

  • Promote policies that improve healthcare access, efficiency, and patient outcomes; and

  • Advocate for innovative solutions that optimize healthcare operations.

Nurses represent the largest segment of the healthcare workforce and bring invaluable expertise to the table. Their insights help to shape people-centered business policies, improve financial performance, and enhance healthcare delivery.

“As frontline providers and leaders, nurses see and hear everything. They are a key conduit between patients and physicians and hospital and practice leadership,” said Radiant Health Care Chief Medical and Chief Marketing Officer Adam Brown. “Having nurses in governance roles can help build stronger, more responsive businesses. In fact, to tackle the toughest challenges in and outside of healthcare, we need to bring nurses in the boardroom. They will help improve business outcomes, drive innovation, and create healthier communities for all.”

Through this partnership, Radiant Healthcare and NOBC aim to expand nurses’ presence on corporate, health-related, and advisory boards, ensuring their perspectives influence key decisions across the industry.

“Nurses play a critical role in healthcare, yet their voices are often underrepresented in leadership,” said Radiant Healthcare CEO Guy Miceli. “By working with NOBC, we have committed to advancing nurse leadership by ensuring they have a seat at the table where policies, operations, and patient care strategies are shaped.”

Established in 2014, NOBC was created in response to the Institute of Medicine’s (IOM) report, The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health, which called for increased nurse leadership in pivotal decision-making roles. NOBC continues to strengthen healthcare leadership by ensuring diverse representation of nurses across boards, panels, and commissions. The organization’s guiding principles drive all aspects of its work, fostering inclusive collaboration to improve community health.

“We need more healthcare firms to embrace nurse leadership. We are excited that Radiant Healthcare has recognized and risen to the challenge and are eager to partner with them as the founding advisory board member to bring nurse expertise into the rooms where healthcare policy is set, innovation is catalyzed, and decisions are made,” said NOBC CEO Cole Edmonson, DNP, RN, FAAN. “Together, we share a mission to drive meaningful change, ensuring nurses’ perspectives are integrated into the highest levels of healthcare decision-making.”
